East Bay Beach Family photoshoot {Benicia, CA photographer}

There’s something extra special about photographing families along the waterfront in Benicia. The combination of soft golden light, the shoreline, and the peaceful bay views creates such a timeless backdrop for family photos.

​This recent session in Benicia was the perfect example of why waterfront sessions in the East Bay are some of my favorites.​ As the sun began to set over the water, this sweet family gathered along the shoreline for a relaxed and meaningful evening session. The warm sunset light wrapped around them beautifully, creating the kind of glow photographers dream about. Their two children brought so much personality to the shoot—full of cuddles, smiles, and those natural little moments that make family photos feel real and heartfelt.

One of my favorite parts of this session was that they brought their black lab along too. Including family pets in sessions always adds another layer of connection because, for so many families, dogs are truly part of the story. Their pup was calm, sweet, and stayed right by their side, making these images even more personal and memorable.
The rocky shoreline in Benicia offers such a unique setting for photos. Between the natural textures of the water, driftwood, and the rolling hills in the background, every direction gives a beautiful scene. It feels peaceful and coastal without having to travel far, which makes it a hidden gem for family portraits in the East Bay.​
