Hello guys and gals! I recently had a fabulous session with the Cooper family. I've said it before and I'll say it again – I truly have the best clients ever! This family was no exception. I adore their outfit choices. Navy blue is definitely an "in" color right now. We met at one of my favorite location near my home in Martinez, CA. I love shooting this location because it has a lot of different areas to shoot for different back drops. The lighting is always amazing here, especially at the end of the session with the mountains, the delta, and a beautiful sunset. I think we even had a ship cruising through the back of the last few images. The Cooper family consists of mom, Kaila who loves being a mom to her two beautiful boys that keep her on her toes constantly. Dad, Jay, loves basketball and teaching his sons how to play. Miles, 6, also loves basketball and the Warriors (Go Dubs!). And Devan, the baby of the family, who is fiercely independent and quite fearless, always on the go. It truly was an amazing photo shoot. And if any of you are considering a family session or are prepping for an upcoming session, heed the words of Kaila: "My words of wisdom would be to not stress too much. The point is to capture your family as they are and to let things happen naturally. I stressed way too much over what my 2 year old would do and at the end of the day we captured him perfectly even though he didn't cooperate 100% during the shoot. Enjoy the moment in time these pictures will represent " she says. Solid advice! Okay, on to pictures of the Cooper family! Doo doo doo doooo! Introducing... ARIANA! I'm still flying high from one of the most wonderful shoots I've had in a while. The pretty little lady in front of the lens is the daughter of Amanda and Dmitry Golovin. Speaking of which, Amanda and Dmitry were so much fun to get to know. I could have talked with them all day! We even found out we had some close friends in common, how cool is that? As for baby Ariana, she was a little angel and slept peacefully through most of our 3-hour session. I'm not gonna lie. When she showed up bright eyed and alert, I thought the session might have turned out a little tricky, but Amanda was able to feed and then rock her to sleep and that knocked Arianna out for a good length of time so we could capture these precious images. Time for a little aww moment: “I had so many emotions going through my head [when Arianna was born]. When I heard her cry, my heart just melted. When I saw her face I couldn't believe that we created such a beautiful tiny person. I looked at her and she stole my heart. I knew in that moment that I was brought into this world to be her mother. It was the most magical moment,” says Amanda. Isn't that precious? Okay, no more talking (or would that be typing?). Check out this little one for yourself!
