This newborn session was extra special as this beautiful family brought not only their brand-new baby, Daya, but also the grandparents to be part of the experience. Sessions like these are some of my favorites—full of love, connection, and generations coming together to celebrate a new life. Baby Daya was just 2 weeks old, which is truly the sweet spot for newborn photography. At this age, babies are still very sleepy, naturally curly, and comfortable being gently posed—allowing for those soft, peaceful images parents love. This is why I always recommend scheduling your newborn session during pregnancy, ideally while you’re in your second trimester, to ensure availability during those first couple of weeks after birth.
Including grandparents in a newborn session is such a meaningful choice. These images become priceless over time—capturing not just how tiny your baby was, but the love and pride surrounding them from the very beginning. Watching grandparents hold their grandchild for the first time (or one of the first times) is incredibly touching, and it adds so much depth and storytelling to a gallery. The neutral tones and simple styling kept the focus exactly where it should be—on baby Daya and the beautiful bond between generations. From quiet moments in dad’s arms to the entire family gathered together, every image reflects how deeply loved this little one already is. Sessions like this are a reminder that newborn photos are about more than just the baby—they’re about family, legacy, and preserving the very start of a story. I’m so honored this family trusted me to capture these moments they’ll cherish forever.

There is something incredibly special about photographing multiple generations together, and the Guthrie family session was exactly that—full of connection, laughter, and love. We met in Martinez, CA at a peaceful little lake surrounded by trees and tall grasses, the perfect natural backdrop for a family that clearly enjoys being together. This session brought together the Guthrie parents, their twin daughters, both husbands, and all the kids—making it a true celebration of family. Coordinated fall tones blended beautifully with the natural setting, giving the images a timeless, relaxed feel. From grandparents smiling proudly at their growing family to sweet moments between parents and their little ones, every combination told part of their story. The kids were the stars in the best way—curious, playful, and full of personality. We kept things easy and fun, allowing them to explore while capturing genuine smiles and interactions. And of course, no family session would be complete without their lovable dog, Mammoth, who happily joined in and added even more character to the photos. Sessions like this are a reminder of how important it is to document these seasons of life. Kids grow quickly, families change, and having images that show everyone together—especially grandparents with their children and grandchildren—is something that becomes more meaningful with time.
The Guthrie family was such a joy to photograph, and I’m so honored to help preserve these memories for them here in Martinez. These are the kinds of images that will be looked back on for generations. 🤍 Turner, their adventurous big brother, and Khai, their spirited little sister, brought so much joy to the session. From climbing, cuddling, and exploring, these two made the photos come alive with their personalities. Mom looked radiant, glowing with her growing belly, while dad brought the calm, steady energy that anchored the whole family. These photos freeze time in the sweetest way—life as a family of four before they soon become five. The love, anticipation, and laughter shared during this session make it one to treasure forever.
Marin’s beauty, with its mix of ocean views and golden light, is always such a dreamy backdrop for family photos. Pair that with a family’s genuine connection, and the result is magic. This sweet family is preparing to welcome baby number three, and we celebrated this special season of life with a photoshoot in the stunning coastal hills of Marin. With the salty breeze nearby and golden light filtering through the eucalyptus trees, the location couldn’t have been more perfect for capturing their story. Welcoming Baby J — And Celebrating Big Brother SThere is nothing I love more than welcoming back families I’ve photographed before. Two years ago, I had the absolute joy of photographing big brother Sebastian as a newborn, and now I’ve had the honor of capturing his new role as proud big brother to sweet baby Julian. Repeat families truly fill my heart — watching your family grow is one of the best parts of this work.
Baby J arrived just in time for the coziest season, so of course we leaned into all things fall. Warm tones, soft textures, and a sprinkle of pumpkins made the perfect setup for this November baby. And with the holidays right around the corner, we added a simple, sweet Christmas setup to get this family ready for the upcoming season of celebration. This session resulted in a very large gallery — over 120 images! Honestly, far too many favorites to choose from. Big brother brought all the smiles, and baby slept like a dream, making it one of those sessions that just flows with ease and sweetness from start to finish. A huge shout-out to Mom, who did an incredible job with wardrobe selection. The soft, coordinating tones photographed beautifully and created such a timeless look for their family portraits. Styling truly makes all the difference, and she nailed it! If you’re expecting a baby in 2026, now is the perfect time to secure your session. Getting on the calendar early means one less thing to think about once your baby arrives — because we all know how wonderfully busy life becomes. The besttime to book your newborn session is during your second trimester. I can’t wait to meet the new babies — and welcome back the wonderful families — who will walk through my studio doors in the year ahead. A Family Session with the Olson’s at the Berkeley Botanical GardensThe Olson family’s photoshoot at the Berkeley Botanical Gardens was an absolute dream. With so many diverse landscapes tucked into one location, it felt like we were able to travel to multiple destinations in a single afternoon. Ollie and Alice were full of energy and curiosity, which made the session all the more fun—exploring new corners of the gardens together as I captured their natural smiles and sweet family moments. We started in the lush greenhouse, where the warm light filtered through the glass and surrounded them with vibrant greenery. It was the perfect spot to capture their connection as a family of four. From there, we wandered into the desert cactus garden, filled with unique textures and striking plants that created such a fun contrast to the softer greenhouse tones. Ollie was fascinated by the tall cacti, while Alice cuddled close to her dad, and I couldn’t help but smile at their little adventures. Another favorite stop was the California native section, which offered a totally different backdrop with green trees, shaded trails, and ferns. This area felt calm and timeless, giving us such a beautiful variety of photos to add to their gallery. It’s amazing how much the Berkeley Botanical Gardens has to offer in just one visit—it truly feels like multiple worlds all in one. One thing to keep in mind when planning a photoshoot here: the gardens close at 5:00 pm, so all sessions must take place earlier in the day. The soft afternoon light filtering through the trees and greenery makes it more than worth the earlier shoot time. ✨ Mini Sessions Announcement ✨
