This beautiful fall day in Danville was all about family — and the Barnum crew showed up with full hearts and big smiles. The parents brought their two daughters, their husbands, and all the grandkids for a morning full of laughter, snuggles, and golden light.
I love sessions like this because they tell a full story — not just of one family, but of generations. Watching the grandparents hold their grandbabies and seeing everyone together in one frame is something truly special. These are the photos that will be cherished for decades — the ones you’ll look back on and remember exactly how little the kids were, how everyone fit perfectly in that moment. So often, families wait for “the perfect time” to take photos, but the truth is — now is the perfect time. Including grandparents in your session makes it even more meaningful. There’s something so beautiful about documenting that bond — the joy, the pride, and the deep love that ties everyone together. The Barnum family radiated warmth, and their color palette of cozy rusts, greens, and soft neutrals fit the season perfectly. It was one of those sessions where you could feel how close everyone is, and I’m so happy they chose to capture this chapter together.

https://jessicamccoyphotograhy.bigcartel.com/product/summermini2025 This gorgeous family planned the perfect summer gathering—renting an Airbnb in Lafayette, California for a relaxing getaway with parents, grandparents, and kids all under one roof. What better way to celebrate than with a professional family photo session right on the property? Their Airbnb provided a stunning backdrop, with a tiled pool, lush greenery, and beautiful golden-hour light that made the whole evening feel like a scene from a summer dream. We captured the love and connection between generations—from playful moments with the little ones to sweet group shots with grandparents, siblings, and cousins. I think this family will be happy with the 152 images in their gallery, here are some of my favorites. And for $800 the 3 families have photos to cherish for a life time and of course, a photo for their Christmas card. What a great deal. 📍Why Airbnb or Vacation Rentals Make Great Photo Locations: When you're already gathered with family in a beautiful space, it’s the perfect opportunity to book a professional photographer. As the sun shone brightly on the rolling hills of the olive grove, the warm light cast a magical glow on the loving family of three in Vacaville, CA. Their little one, a curious and adventurous one-year-old, was the star of the show, capturing the hearts of everyone around. Our photoshoot was a beautiful blend of rustic charm, lush greenery, and joyful moments, creating memories that will be treasured for a lifetime. As we wandered through the grove, we stumbled upon an old International green truck, its vibrant color popping against the muted tones of the surroundings. The family eagerly climbed aboard, and we captured some amazing shots of them snuggled up together, with the little one perched proudly on the edge of the truck bed. The truck added a fun and nostalgic touch to the photos, and we couldn't resist taking a few more shots with it as the centerpiece. As the sun began to set, we made our way to the nearby lavender fields, where the soft purple blooms stretched out as far as the eye could see. The sweet scent filled the air, and the family couldn't resist running through the rows, laughing and spinning in the fading light. We captured some breathtaking shots of mom and son surrounded by the lavender.
