I have made a real effort to start bringing my "big camera" of family vacations to take pictures of my won kids. Then it got me thinking, i wanted to document our trips, similar to scrapbooking. And what better way to do that then by making a blog? So, here goes . Every year we take a trip to Arnold. My husband's dad was on a a hunting trip in 2001 and he ultimately died there in the forrest. So, every year we go up to celebrate him and see a small memorial the family placed up there. Our first stop on the way up was the El Jardin Mexican restaurant in Murphys (their yelp page here). We had planned on grabbing a few tacos and getting back on the road so we could get to our cabin before dark. As we waited for the food, we noticed this very cute back patio that we knew our kids would love, so we decided to dine in. I ordered 2 "real" Mexican tacos, as they called it, with soft corn tortillas and carne asada. Ya know, what you might get on a taco truck. I was starving and forgot to get a pic of my food :( I also got a margarita. They warned me that they tequila was made from wine. At first this had me nervous, but it was fantastic. It did not taste like wine; it was like a real margarita.. but maybe a little weaker, which is fine by me. And my kids enjoyed a bean burrito and att eh chips they could possibly eat. Another favorite thing about this place was a rushing stream in the back. My kids loved to look at it, and it was a great back ground noise. My husband caught up on the giants game, and I sipped my margarita. So glad we stopped here, and I think we will put this on the list of things we do every year when we come up here
